The company you keep
We are told by experts in the arena of self development that we become like the 5 people we spend the most time with. We begin to act like them, take on some of their expressions and certainly some of their ideas. I believe this principal to be true even in the arena of tree care.
As i reflect on my 35 years in the industry I have a deep sense of gratitude for the friendships i have made. I have been very deliberate in selecting the people with whom I associate and the organizations i have joined. I have spent time around the best and the brightest our industry has to offer hoping to glean some of their brilliance . From the Chisolm family who own the Aspen tree expert company to Lou Giroud founder of Giroud tree and lawn. These families run businesses with the utmost ethical standards and hearts of Gold. I have also made a brother Rick Yoos of Yoos tree and crane. This man is always a step ahead and no one can out give this man. These are some of the local influences But there have also been some strong influences around the country. Joining TCIA and attending Tree care industry expo as well as The winter management conference has allowed me , A simple man, to break bread with the trend setters and idea makers in our industry. So as i sit reflecting this morning on the important things in life i am overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude for the company ii have been so fortunate to keep . I am glad this principal is true and that i have become an amalgam of all of these gracious and awesome people . TCIA has been an incredible vehicle and platform
